Choosing a Web Host
Backups

Another key point is BACKUPS!

It simply amazes me the number of webhosts who actually don't carry out backups of their clients data. Most people make the mistake of assuming that their chosen host will carry out this simple routine task on their behalf. And in most instances they are simply providing the service as described.

This simple oversight can cost a business much more than the cost of designing the site. Usually the pages of the site can be easily restored, should you still have the original copy to hand, however if your site includes any dynamic pages, such as forums, blogs, order forms, customer data etc... this is all usually lost.

It is generally recommended that daily backups provide the best fit solution, given that should your host "loose" your site, you only stand to loose 24 hours of data, however if your last backup was taken a month ago... Well you get the jist!
